Rachel Johnson, Poslestar Certified Pilates Instructor

Rachel was first introduced to Pilates after experiencing years of chronic pain and undergoing multiple surgeries. The combination of Pilates and Physical Therapy has allowed her to regain a normal lifestyle. She is now passionate about teaching Pilates, not only in the rehabilitation industry, but to those in every walk of life! Originally from Minnesota, Rachel made Colorado her home in 2005. She is the youngest of four girls, enjoys cooking, hiking and playing the piano.

Pilates is an exercise system developed by Joseph Pilates to strengthen muscles, increase flexibility and improve overall health. Exercises can be performed on a mat or on specially designed equipment. One of the best things about the Pilates method is that ist works so well for a wide range of people. Athletes and dancers love it, as do seniors, women rebounding from pregnancy, and people who are at various stages of physical rehabilitation.

“Keeping oneself active and aware through movement systems that integrate the mind and body are essential for health and wellness.”

Jan Schuster, MA, CNMT
After more than 18 years in event/video production, Jan “shifted gears” after a debilitating car accident, brought her to the doors of rehabilitation.  Duly inspired by her rehabilitation therapist “team”, in 1999 she returned to school to become a certified massage therapist, with a focus on neuromuscular trigger point therapies.  Jan treats clients for work, car, lifestyle related injured, pre/post surgical concerns and works extensively with thoracic outlet syndrome.  She is also certified in sports massage, and has training in Lymphatic Drainage therapy.

I believe it is crucial to remember that all areas of a client’s life, as well as their loved ones are affected when one is in rehab.  Different choices have to be made; life styles altered.  That’s not always easy to do.  While hands on treatment is important, at least as important is creating an environment that allows the client to feel encouraged, challenged, motivated, listened to, supported and cared for.”
